Personally I took Sex Ed (or ‘Health’ as it was called. We touched on Sex heavily though.) when I was a Freshman, and that was two years ago
Two school years, I guess I should say since I’m a Junior now
What I remember most vividly is that everything was really negative
Most of what we learned were about safety, STDs, and abstinence.
But I feel like it was heavily lacking. Maybe it just didn’t do anything for me, because I’m not all that interested in sex.
But what I realized, due to my mom and I’s conversation/arguement about my sexuality (In which I am still up in the air about) is that she told me that I couldn’t be pansexual because I didn’t know how to have sex with a lady.
Now that’s rediculous, but also a good point. I have no idea how to do that. Who’s fault is that? Partially my own, because I never really educated myself on the matter, but it’s also the sex ed/health class, that never taught us things like that.
It needs to be a class centered around the safe act, and warnings. A good balance, not mostly warnings and telling you where you can get free condoms/assistance in the matters of sexual intercourse.
I think it’s obvious enough there is a lot of revamping to be done of the educational system, especially sex-ed/health classes.
